Thanks for stopping by! I’ve been creating art inspired by the natural world for most of my life. My work ranges from expressive forms, like large scale gestural paintings and pyrotechnic raku pottery, to technical scientific illustrations. I also like to practice what I preach; I am currently a Ph.D. student studying Integrative Conservation at the University of Georgia. My research currently focuses on the role that sea turtles and other iconic species play in our sense of place and place-based environmental management. Previously I have studied human fears and conservation attitudes toward snakes and worked at Zoo Atlanta. You can catch me there during the summer for their Art Gone Wild painting event. I am a proud Georgia Tech fan (and alumna) and live in Athens, GA with my pet chameleon.
I create scientific illustrations, drawings, and paintings on commission. You can contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org with requests.
My pottery is for sale on Etsy at www.serahmics.etsy.com. I also accept commission requests there or by email.
